Jurassic World the Ride! Video and Review.

We recently got passes to Universal Studios and were excited to hear of the upgrading of Jurassic Park into the Jurassic World ride. This attraction is a reboot (those are big right now) to the original Jurassic Park ride. In other words, they fixed up the old ride with new scenes, animatronics, show elements, and storylines to reflect the latest movies in the franchise.

The totally new elements like the aquarium for the giant dino-gator thing (Mosasaurus), Animatronic dinos, and other unique surprises are really well done. The upgraded sound, fresh paint, fully functional show elements, videos, and lighting is what really shined through though. It made it seem like a whole new ride and more than just a rebrand. The considerable drop at the end is as terrifying as ever but feels like there is less splashing in the boat.

Like all theme parks, the exit is through the gift shop, and there is a slew of Jurassic themed restaurants, bars, and kiosks around the periphery of the ride. Speaking of which, tucked in a corner is a Raptor encounter photo-op / mini attraction with Blue the Raptor and a trainer. Blue is a really cool Raptor and loves scaring the poop out of people getting their picture taken with her. It’s really fun to watch this go down.

While I don't think it represents anywhere specific from the Jurassic World movie, the whole area feels just like it. You almost expect those flying, mini-T-rex things from the film to come swooping down at any moment.

This attraction is super rad and a must-see if you're gonna visit anytime soon.

Keep in mind this is a new ride, it's summer, and the length of the line can be dispiriting, disheartening and yet somehow comically long.

Like, two hours would be a standard weight time.

If there is only a few of you and you're not picky about sitting next to each other, consider using the single rider line.

It could save you some time in line. You may even luck out and be on the same ride vehicle with whomever you're with, but you definitely won't be sitting next to each other.

If that doesn't work for you, there are "express passes" available for sale, but they can be expensive. If you're gonna sweat it out in the line, bring your water and have some patience.

So all in all Jurassic World is a top-notch ride and a must-see for any dino fan!
