30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 13

"A date you would love to go on."

[Mike] Describe a date I would like to go on. Hmm, between the blog and various projects we haven't been out a whole lot. When time and budgets permit, we do want to get out there and take pics and write about cool places.

When you've been together as long as us, it's hard to find unique places and new events. We've done rad stuff around town. Sure there's always something like concerts or "exclusive events" on, if you have the cheddar. But from the few events like these I've been to for one reason or another, I've deemed them just ok.

You see, even if you have the stacks to attend, there's always a VIP area, "experience," unlimited pass, or some other bullshit. Big shots think they have some bread, and then you show up to these things, and only those who came on the gravy train with biscuit wheels can do anything. Despite being more chump than change, I/we have found some rad/cool/awesome places and cool events.

One unique thing that sounds interesting to me, although might not seem romantic. A guided tour of the abandoned original LA Transit subway tunnel and station. Crystal might object to going into an unbelievably spooky but really cool part of LA history from the 1920's. After, going to dinner and dancing to make up for going into creepy-ass tunnel downtown.

[Crystal] Mike and I have been going on dates for years now! Aquariums, Disneyland, Foo Fighters concerts, the LA County Fair, train day, the Arboretum or Huntington Library, Beach dates and lunches and dinners out galore!

But I think with all those fun times sometimes my favorite date night includes grabbing a Starbucks after work on a Friday followed by a stroll at the Monrovia Street Fair on Myrtle!

There's always live music, lots of people watching, awesome restaurants for whatever cuisine you might be craving, a movie theater, fresh produce, free samples, curio shopping, and dollar jewelry! It's great for when you're on a budget or when you're looking to go on a shopping spree! Complete with being close by, there's also free parking, always different sources of entertainment and good for a festive walk up and down Myrtle Avenue.

Ooo, can't wait till Friday now!!!
