Photoshoot with Naiia
I love taking portraits of costumed characters and on the last day of January we booked 2 gorgeous girls in multiple fun costumes! First, I would like to present the lovely Naiia!
The song “Colors of the Wind” from Disney’s Pocahontas filled my head as we shot Naiia’s first look. Her gorgeous dark, flowing hair we all utilized as she flipped it around as if we had a giant fan on her. (I wish we had that by the way - I need to make a mental note for next time!)
This real life Disney Princess came up with one pose after another and we just kept snapping as quickly as the studio lights could recycle. Her grace, elegance, poise and beauty shined through in each frame and in narrowing down my favorite Pocahontas looks, I really struggled because I loved them all!
Here are some for you to enjoy. (Feel free to hum “Colors of the Wind” to yourself as you scroll through each shot.)
American Indian themes prevailed in Naiia’s next look (who is genetically not tied to Native Americans but often gets cast that way.) Costumes came care of Sheros Entertainment Mermaids and Pirates.
We had so much fun all night laughing so hard, while coming up with scenarios to explain different poses we wanted to see her express. There were talks of digging for frogs, catching chickens and riding invisible horses… I guess you had to be there. Hilarity ensued, I assure you!
Naiia’s last outfit after Annie Oakley was Fortune Teller and we were excited to play with a few props and mystical poses for her to try out and of course some fun in post processing too.
Overall, we had a magical photoshoot and a lot of fun! All the different looks and props and poses made for a full variety of images that she can use for her portfolio and we can use to compete with. I hope her and Virgina come back as Pirates and Mermaids sometime super soon! We loved having these two beautiful and talented ladies! Till next time!
