Ariel's Maternity Photos 2020
It’s February and love is in the air! Especially for this amazing couple who is expecting a baby girl next month.

First shot on the day
These beautiful friends of mine wanted an outdoor photoshoot so we went to Lake Balboa in Los Angeles on an overcast and sprinkley Saturday afternoon. Luckily, the weather held out and we got some genuinely loving poses and expressions with nice soft lighting, care of these clouds.

I’ve known Ariel for almost 10 years now and I have photographed her before in studio, but this was my first opportunity to capture the couple together professionally. Since they are my friends we began with catching up and sharing in some laughter together. I am so happy for these two and the new adventure they are about to embark on!
Glowing in nature
As a photographer, I get so much joy seeing a couple interact during a photoshoot. I try to change locations, props, poses, and expressions so there is a wide variety of shots that catalog the sweet emotional connection between the pair and their obvious love for the expected new addition.
Loving the baby bump
Ariel’s fresh manicure and coordinated outfit choices, made this session a successful one. The natural backgrounds and floral garland accents complimented each other so nicely and Joseph’s classic blue button-up and black slacks were truly a timeless choice. I got so many breathtaking shots of these two looking their best and absolutely glowing with happiness and excitement.
Love and hugs
We were very excited to find the bridge that we all saw online when scouting out Lake Balboa! The simplicity, colors and greenery made this a perfect spot to snap a couple adorable images of these two, and since it had been raining earlier, there was very little foot traffic trying to cross over this bridge as we were photographing there.
Once we were happy with the breathtaking photos we got in outfit number 1, it was time to find a restroom in the park so she could change clothes.
Yoga is very important to Ariel and she wanted some traditional exposed belly photos with a hippie kind of vibe. Again, her outfit and coordinating throw worked so beautifully out here in nature. This is definitely Ariel in her element. Peace, love, and harmony.

So we took a bunch of individual pictures of the mom-to-be first testing out balance and different yoga poses by the lake. Her bright colors stood out so beautifully on this gray day. I feel happier just seeing her there, don’t you?!
I am in awe of this couple’s love for one another and their already apparent love for their new child on the way. I can’t wait to meet her! You guys are going to make such excellent parents soon!!!
