Santa John of AZ
Last Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing John who travelled all the way from Arizona to have us photograph him as Santa Claus!
We began with some basic headshots in street clothes to get him comfortable in front of the lens.
His red Arizona Santas polo was the perfect touch of red to set off this incredible holiday shoot!
Next, came the Santa Aloha shirt! John was stoked that once we got him on the ground for some casual shots, he was comfortably sitting cross-legged. The cloud background really sets off the tropical feel.
So next, it was time to suit up! (Santa Suit that is!)
Seated in this comfortable gold lined chair, John was positioned into the main studio lights to pick up that twinkle in his eyes!
Working on a variety of poses, incorporating props and even including my mom gave Santa John a nice variety of photos with different looks and feelings.
We have a Christmas background that we were also anxious to use! This really helps set the scene for Mr. Claus and even in September, we are whisked away into December, the most magical time of year!
It was time to change into Santa’s casual vest wear. Our next winter background Santa John really loved! His favorite was the beautifully lit Christmas tree in the center (of course, right?!) Look at that beaming smile!
Last, we tried out the plain solid black background and I think John really shined!
No matter what poses, looks, or props we added, Santa’s genuine smile, warm personality and caring nature continued to shine through! We all laughed so hard, smiled until our cheeks hurt and enjoyed the evening until way past my bedtime, but in the end it was all so worth it!
I hope Santa John thoroughly enjoys his new headshots for marketing and website design use. I know my mom and I will continue to work on his images and use them in our upcoming Photo Competitions!
Thanks for reading and viewing my portraits and a big Holiday Thank You to Santa John, for making the trip out to California to pose for us!
What a great shoot!
