Roaring Nights at the LA Zoo

Roaring Nights at the LA Zoo

September 15, 2017 Los Angeles Zoo

What a great experience we had at the LA Zoo's Roaring Nights on Friday night! The theme was 80's and 90's and we dressed up with hundreds of others to see the incredible animals, dance to the live cover band, listen to Richard Blade spin some classics and chose from 15 different food trucks and adult beverage stations.

Free parking (always) and a Groupon special ($3 off the normal $20 price) made this a very popular event!

We were welcomed in after a quick line, security check, and classic photo taken by the Zoo Entrance Photographers. The entry way was lined with "pop-up animal encounter stations" and food trucks galore!

Zoo keepers had box turtles, snakes, and lizards out for touching and educating. Someone even got a selfie with one!

Great cover band!

Nearby (where the carousel is) we could hear the sound of our favorite Go-Gos hit and as we came closer we realized it was an awesome cover band called the Boombox Heroes! We danced our tails off!

The crowd was lively, the music was on pointe, the food trucks smelled incredible and the staff was extremely informative!

We even found out our friend Ariel was there too so we got the chance to meet up and dance to the music played by the Legendary DJ Richard Blade!

Best part of the night!

We danced the night away, often mouthing all the words to songs like the Beastie Boys "Girls" and Drama Rama's "Anything, Anything"! It was like some sort of epic party time!

Hope you can make it out to the next Los Angeles Zoo event!
