30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 21
"What's going on in the news" is scary and everyday when I come home from work, we stay tuned to keep ourselves updated and informed. Hurricane Harvey has blown through Texas like, well... some kind of hurricane! Causing so much destruction, devestation and massive flooding in its path. People are waking up to literally 8+ feet of water destroying their homes, cars, personal belongings, precious memories, businesses and future livelihoods and believe it or not, even more rain is due to come!
I cannot even fathom what these poor people are dealing with emotionally. Many have cherished families, pets, and personal lives which overnight, have pretty much been destroyed. This realistically may leave thousands of Americans homeless, jobless, and utterly hopeless in this unbelievable catastrophe.
But what can we do to help? These communities require extreme aid, now (and for many years to come.) And there is so much actively happening as we write this. Families are without electricity, food, clean water and normal everyday amenities.
Yet to spite all the chaos, I see humanity coming together to really help each other out. To spite age, color, religion, class or political preference people are really coming together to help lift each other up. Heros are being made each day as they help save a stranded pet, rescue a whole group of nursing home members, or bring a boat down to help rescue their fellow man. Throughout this struggle, we can prove that humanity and compassion can out weigh others hate and bigotry and we can prove that being an American means we can be united.
God bless Houston - stay strong! And donate if you can!

Wow. Most days the news is no fun. The last few days though, wow. From the hurricane to President Jackhole, it's tough. There is a lot of people in dire need. I don’t have much to say about it this or much of anything at the moment. I hope everyone stays safe. Good night.
