30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 5

What 5 things annoy you about the opposite sex?

[Mike] Why did we pick these questions again? Oy vey.

-Catty female social circles. Your geographic location and socioeconomic status have no bearing on this. We are talking about a group of gals or women who are friends from school, co-workers, or they are omnipresent. They go by many aliases "the girls," "besties" "Noun-Moms" (wine moms, soccer-moms, etc.) the girls from work, yes, even Nana's book-club it's all the same. Usually, these groups start out nice enough, but someone rubs someone the wrong way or jealousies occur or some other petty thing. This converts the group to more frenemies than besties. The function of these groups changes to venting frustration about all of life's stressors by throwing shade at whoever the group is sore at. Now, these are just my observations, but come on gals, help each other instead of the trash talk. The same goes for douche guy circles. Be nice jerks.
The more I think about it, that's my one big complaint. Women put up with a lot and handle things with strength, determination, and grace. I guess that's why I don't understand why it seems so hard for them to find that same understanding for each other. I mean you all have walked a mile in each other's shoes. Sometimes literally. So be nice to each other. (Even that girl who's laugh you don't like.)

[Crystal] What annoys you about the opposite sex?

I guess my biggest pet peeve is all the profanity used when a bunch of men get together. It's like a battle of "fucks" and "shits" and... well, worse things that I don't care to translate. Being a woman in a predominantly male industry, I hear things all day that I don't care to. I'm getting really good at blocking it all out and lately, even sharing in an occasional "bull shit" every once in a while. But I still think it's just a lame attempt at trying to sound "cool" as if we are in the eighth grade and we are all trying to show off how bad ass we can be with our new found profane words.

So let's clean it up boys and sound a little more professional once in awhile. In the great words of Samuel L. Jackson:

"Enough is enough. I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane."

Thanks for reading and hearing us vent,
