30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 3
What type of person attracts you?
[Mike] What we talking here? Hehe. Ok, well I seem to like either good natured, sweet souls, or type-A, active personalities. No middle ground for me. Before I started this blog, I was very selective of who gets to know "the real me." I seem to get along better with gals rather than fellas, and that's always been alright with me. That comes with its own set of challenges, but it's what makes me most comfortable.
If you know Crystal, you know of her good nature, sweetness and sense of humor and that's very rare today, (heck even rare 18 years ago when we met.) We are so close and have been for so long that it's really nice when we have one or two close friends that understand our truly unique relationship.
I was heart broken over a friendship like this ending a few years back. I hadn't wanted to open up at all to anyone else for years since. I can't fix that one, but as we open up and mature a bit, maybe the mistakes of the past won't be repeated.
Crystal is truly a wonder of poise and positivity. I'd like to think I'm an interesting person and we can attract friends that can appreciate our unique relationship and want to see all of us thrive.
[Crystal] What type of person attracts you?
If you were to tell my 15 year old sweet, innocent self: "One day you are going to love this tall, goofy, Hispanic-ish man with a beard that you'll meet in just 3 short years." I'd say "No way, you're crazy!" But here we are, 18 years later!
What first attracted me to my husband was his ability to make me laugh and smile. We'd have conversations for hours on end (racking up our MCI Cellular Wireless bills to the max!) He'd tease me, and poke fun (like the older brother I never had), and play pranks like throwing things into my shopping cart in order to embarrass me such as adult diapers, anti-itch cream and Karma Sutra books. Years later, you might have even found some "Depends" on our Target Wedding Registry, that someone I know added last minute! lol
So to put it simply, I am attracted to those who can make me laugh. The joy of laughter can be brought on by friends as well, and I find myself being instantly drawn to someone with a bright smile and a good sense of humor.
So keep up the comedy, never take yourself too seriously and just enjoy the company of those you surround yourself with. Laughter is the best medicine and taken twice daily can increase levels of attraction ten fold!
Thanks for reading and laughing with us,
Mike & Crystal Olguin
