Monrovia Street Fair

Friday nights on S. Myrtle Ave you’ll find the Monrovia Street Fair! This sleepy old town comes alive at night with the sounds of live music, the smells of BBQ, kettle corn and food trucks, the calls of vendors with free samples, fresh produce and flowers and the general public coming from near and far to check out the festivities. There’s plenty to see and do here for the whole family from balloon art to face painting, pony and camel rides & bounce houses for the kids to excellent shopping, music, food and drinks for the adults. Fun to be had by all!

We followed our noses and walked Myrtle Avenue from the top to the bottom where all of the food trucks are located and we realized that Mike in a Hawaiian shirt totally fit right in with the Tikiz Shaved Ice truck… mmm!!! Shaka dude!

But what we truly come here for each time is these little cakes! Dolce Monachelli’s specializes in the Italian Butter Rum cake (with free samples each time we go), but they have so many other flavors including Red Velvet, Cinnamon Sugar, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Whiskey, Pineapple Upside Down, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Spice. There’s deals for the more you buy so we always end up with 3-5 of these treats to take home - we love them!

After checking things out for a while we decided we should probably stop in for some dinner and the restaurants that line the street fair are always open and ready to serve with nice air conditioning and this evening - the Dodgers vs. NY Yankees game so we enjoyed a pizza together at the Copper Still Grill.

A great time to be had with lots of great food, shopping, music and activites for all. Next time you’re in town on a Friday - check it out!

Thanks for reading and checking it out! Have a great weekend everyone, no matter what you do!
