30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 6

Putting a twist on this one... cause today's topic; "The person you like and why you like them?" is way too simple and boring. (Plus you guys don't want to sit there reading our mushy nonsense!)

So I'm going to say the celebrity you like and why you like them?

So my celebrity crush is... (this is just Crystal here by the way) is Chris Pratt. Not because of his more recent roles in Guardians of the Galaxy or Jurassic World, but from his days playing the bumbling Andy on NBC's "Parks and Recreation."

Andy's character was so simple, yet loveable. And he always went out of his way to make his love interest, April feel special and cared about. His comic relief especially tickled my funny bone, I guess because his nonsense reminded me of Mike's drinking days.

Fast forward a few years, to when he's getting in shape for his leading role in Guardians of the Galaxy and he says in "Parks and Rec" that he lost 60 lbs in 6 months just by not drinking a twelve pack of beer everyday. Ridiculous. But kind of true. Mike also dropped the pounds and the puffiness after giving up the sauce.

In addition, in real life Chris Pratt is married to Anna Faris. How adorable are they?!

We listen to her podcast all the time! (Especially when Chris stops by!) Both incredibly funny, yet down to earth people!

So some day, when the four of us all hang out together, it's going to be total awesome-sauce! But in the meantime, a girl can dream, right?

Sweet dreams,

Day 6

Update:

Mike here!

NBC

I shall pick a fictional character befitting of Crystal's choice.

The character on TV's Parks and Rec, April Ludgate played by Aubry Plaza. She's attractive but super weird. She's kind of a grump, sarcastic, sometimes weirdly dark. I don't know why Chris Pratt's Character Andy Dwyer likes her, and I don't know why I do either.

I guess because all that sarcasm and mean comments are not without a humorous sense of irony. Even though they couldn't possibly be more mismatched, April really stands up for Andy. Even when he's too dumb to realize it, and I like that.

You get the sense that despite being sarcastic and kind of mean outwardly, there is perhaps a softer side to her she carefully hides; but is the secret to Andy's appeal to her. I like the don't judge a book by its cover message the whole show Parks and Rec exhibits.

Complex characters with different sides to them, and long story arcs are just not something you see a lot in situation comedy. I love how funny this show can be despite not being raunchy or crude.

By the way, I don't know much about Aubry, but she was on Anna Faris's podcast. She told of her legit scary sea-hag Halloween costume, and how she scared trick or treaters so bad, their parents got mad. So she seems pretty rad! Thanks for reading this!
