Cosmic Brewery - Paint Night Event

On Sunday 10/29 I attended a Paint Nite Event held at a pretty new spot called Cosmic Brewery in Torrance, CA. Arriving early, owners Christopher and Sabrina were there to give us the grand tour!

The first thing we noticed were the cool space themed murals on their walls. This one below took 8 months to complete by an artist named Patty Briles. The label on the beer bottle is blank so that it is interchangeable to highlight their latest concoction!

The main bar area shows off various T-shirts, specialty sodas and a menu of their latest in house brewed beers! Note the special touches of cosmic themed items such as the plasma ball and robot (on the top shelf!)

In the tasting/telescope room there is a digital dispensary for the many delicious brews on tap.

Keeping up with their cosmic theme, on Friday nights they actually break out these telescopes to view the night sky!

The Brewery area is also decked out with another gorgeous mural, done by Oregon artist Jon Baker. And there is even room for corn hole (a beanbag toss across game.)

What really struck a cord with me was the pet wall! Sabrina has gone out of her way to save cats and dogs in need (even rescuing one from off of the freeway.)  She often rescues these furry bundles of love, nurses them back to health, spays/neuters and then finds a furever home for them. Her success story wall will continue to grow as she finds homes for these adorable, adoptable pets!

Now onto Paint Nite!

Future artists are supplied with canvases, 5 colors of acrylic paint on a mixing plate, a cup of water and two brushes. The instructor has a finished demo of what our goal is right next to him as he paints a fresh piece along with us.

We were instructed to begin with a yellow circle, then create light blue and dark blue alternating circles around that bright sun.

After filling up the canvas with alternating blues, you are free to add other fun colors limited only by your own imagination! Now it’s time to add the tree. Mixing a brown was no easy task though. Red + Yellow + a little bit of Black = Brown!

This group was really good at staying together, encouraging eachothers creativity and even lending colors to one another. I think adding the flowers onto the tree was the funnest part! Sara and I went with pinks, reds and yellows.

After about two hours of fun, we were done and each signed our work then posed for a group picture against the awesome brewery’s mural!

Our proud group displays our artwork with a sense of accomplishment. Ta-da!

Can’t want to come back again to Cosmic Brewery for other various events or pet adoptions n the future! Check em out at CosmicBrewery.com or on Instagram and Facebook.

Mine hangs in my office at work already
